Title:
VIDEO IMAGE PREDICTION METHOD AND APPARATUS
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2020/042630
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Provided are a video image prediction method and apparatus, which are used for solving the problem in the prior art that the length of an encoded video sequence is increased. Some video images do not have an affine characteristic, and for some video images, not all the stripes thereof have an affine characteristic, and therefore, a first-type identifier and/or a second-type identifier can be added to a code stream, wherein the first-type identifier is used for indicating whether a video image can use an inter-frame prediction mode of an affine motion model, and the second-type identifier is used for indicating whether stripes of the video image can use the inter-frame prediction mode of the affine motion model. For an image block included in a video image or a stripe which does not need an affine motion model, parameters, associated with the affine motion model, of the image block do not need to be transmitted. The parameters associated with the affine motion model also do not need to be parsed at a decoding side when the image block is decoded, so that the load of a decoder can be reduced, the processing speed can be improved, and the processing time can be reduced.
