Abstract:

The present invention provides a video monitoring system with which it is possible to specify a person who has abandoned an abandoned object and to reduce the user load of an operation for tracking the movement of the person. An abandoned object detection unit 202 detects an abandoned object shown in an image photographed by any of a plurality of image-capture devices 100. When the abandoned object has been detected, a person specification unit 203 specifies as an abandonment time image the image immediately before or immediately after the abandoned object appeared, and specifies at least one person shown in the abandonment time image as the person of interest. A person retrieval unit 205 retrieves, from among the images photographed by each of the plurality of image-capture devices 100, the image showing the person of interest. A result display unit 206 outputs on the screen of a user terminal 300 a display showing the movement of the person of interest, on the basis of the image-capture time and the image-capture device that captured the images in which the person of interest is shown.
