Abstract:
Disclosed is a video processing device (100) that can derive appropriate feature quantities that make it possible to reliably identify faces without causing a user frustration. The video processing device (fig. 2) is characterized by the provision of: an imaging unit (120) that acquires video; a position identification unit (170) that identifies one face image from the video; a face association unit (174) that associates the identified face image with face information that bundles together one or more feature quantities, said face information being stored in a memory unit; a feature quantity derivation unit (176) that derives a feature quantity for the identified face image; and a memory control unit (178) that compares the derived feature quantity with the one or more feature quantities in the face information associated with the identified face image, and if a prescribed condition is met, adds the derived feature quantity to the face information and stores same in a feature quantity memory unit (134).
