Abstract:
The present invention provides a viewpoint image generation device, a viewpoint image generation method, and a program that can generate a viewpoint image enabling appropriate observation of a lateral surface of an object of interest from images taken by a drone or the like. A processor (200) of a viewpoint image generation device (20) acquires a plurality of images, acquires the location and orientation of a camera, acquires object-of-interest coordinates which are coordinates of an object of interest, calculates first in-camera-field-of-view coordinates of the object of interest for the camera, generates observation viewpoint coordinates which are coordinates of a plurality of virtual observation viewpoints, determines a direction of observation of the object of interest according to the plurality of virtual observation viewpoints, calculates second in-camera-field-of-view coordinates of the object of interest for the camera, selects a to-be-transformed image that is to undergo a projective transformation, applies a projective transform to the to-be-transformed image, and generates a viewpoint image as observed from a virtual observation viewpoint.
