Abstract:
This vinyl alcohol polymer contains a structural unit derived from at least one selected from the group consisting of a carboxy group-containing monomer and a derivative thereof, wherein the vinyl alcohol polymer has: a minimum degree of branching of at most 0.93 in the absolute molecular weight range of 200,000 to 800,000; a viscosity average degree of polymerization of at most 750; and a degree of saponification of at least 65 mol%.
