Abstract:
A virtual thin client making device is provided that limits access to peripheral devices temporarily in certain cases, without a logging-in to or rebooting of the computer, thereby simulating making the computer into a thin client. The virtual thin client making device is a device that is provided with an AP (application program), an API (AP interface), and a peripheral device; that is provided with a hooking means for which, if the API performs file access when a call from the AP to the API is processed, processing of the call is hooked; and an access destination determination means for determining, when a hook is processed, whether or not a destination of access by the API is a destination for which access is being disallowed; wherein the hooking means allows processing of the call of the API execution means if the destination of access by the API execution means is not a destination of access for which access is being disallowed, and outputs an error to the AP execution means if the destination of access is a destination for which access is being disallowed.
