Abstract:
The virus inactivating agent of the present invention is a highly alkaline electrolyte having a pH of 12.1 to 13.2, a negative redox potential, and a dissolved hydrogen concentration of 200 to 1500 ppb. Preferably, the virus inactivating agent is a highly alkaline electrolyte having a pH of 12.5 to 13.1, a redox potential of -300 to -1100 mV, and a dissolved hydrogen concentration of 200 to 1500 ppb. More preferably, free chlorine is 0 ppm in the virus inactivating agent. A method that comprises spraying the virus inactivating agent in the form of a mist or foam, or in the form of a micro-sized mist into a space from a sprayer or a spraying device so as to allow the virus inactivating agent to adhere to an object to be protected from a virus. Alternatively, a method that comprises immersing an object to be protected in the virus inactivating agent, washing the object in the virus inactivating agent, or applying the virus inactivating agent to the object so as to allow the virus inactivating agent to adhere to the object.
