Abstract:

Provided is a viscous composition that has freshness, little sliminess or stickiness, and exceptional viscosity retention when applied to the skin. More specifically, provided is a viscous composition containing: (I) a (meth)acrylic-acid-based water-soluble polymer (polymer component-I) in which the storage modulus (G') at an angular frequency of 10 rad/s measured under the following conditions is 100 Pa or greater [measurement conditions: the storage modulus (G') at an angular frequency of 10 rad/s is derived on the basis of a frequency dispersion obtained by varying the angular frequency within the range of 0.1-300 rad/s using a pH 6.5-7.0 neutralized aqueous solution containing 0.5 mass% of the polymer under a strain of 0.1 or 1% in a strain dispersion at a solution temperature of 25°C and a rheometer frequency set at 1 Hz]; (II) a crosslinked copolymer of a (meth)acrylic acid and a (meth)acrylic acid alkyl ester, said copolymer being different from the polymer of (I); (III) an ascorbic acid compound; and (IV) at least one non-ionic surfactant selected from the group consisting of glycerin fatty acid esters and sucrose fatty acid esters.
