Abstract:
The present invention provides a viscous composition which does not lose handling properties after long-term storage even if a partially neutralized product of a polymer having an ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid unit is contained therein at a high concentration, and which easily gets back to a uniform composition even after layer separation. The present invention more specifically provides a viscous composition which contains 10-40% by mass of (A) a partially neutralized product of a polymer having an ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid unit, 0-50% by mass of (B) glycerol, 5-65% by mass of (C) a dihydric alcohol and 0-20% by mass of (D) water, wherein: the total of components (B) and (C) is 40% by mass or more; and the mass ratio of the total of components (B) and (C) to component (A), namely ((B) + (C))/(A) is 1.5 or more.
