Abstract:
 The present invention is provided with: a capacitor (5) for supplying electrical power to a PM motor (4); a PM inverter (13) connected to the PM motor (4); a voltage converter (8) including a transformer-coupled booster that outputs, to the PM inverter (13), a direct current voltage that was a boosted capacitor voltage of the capacitor (5); and a voltage converter-controlling unit (25) that generates and outputs a variable command value for the direct current voltage corresponding to the capacitor voltage of a predetermined range within a range that is less than an upper predetermined voltage and at or above a lower predetermined voltage of the direct current voltage, when the PM motor (4) is being driven and the output of the transformer-coupled booster is less than a predetermined output, which is a value that is less than the output limit of the transformer-coupled booster. It is thereby possible to obtain an output that corresponds to load fluctuations of the PM motor (4) using the transformer-coupled booster.
