Abstract:
A wakefulness level judging device and method enables improvement of the accuracy of
judgment of the wakefulness level of a driver. A wobble detecting section of
the device installed in a car detects the wobble of the car on the basis of lane line
information inputted from a lane line recognition sensor. A factor identifying section
identifies the cause factor of the car wobble on the basis of the results of detections
from various sensors constituting driver information recognizing means, environment
information recognizing means, and car information recognizing means. A wakefulness
level judging section judges the wakefulness level of the driver on the basis
of the result of multiplication of the wobble occurrence rate of each wobble occurrence
factor and a weight coefficient predetermined for each wobble occurrence factor.
