Abstract:
A washing machine and a method for controlling same are disclosed. The washing machine according to the present disclosure may comprise: a housing; a spin basket positioned in the housing so as to rotate centrifugally around a rotating shaft; a pulsator positioned at the center portion of the lower end of the inside of the spin basket so as to rotate centrifugally around the rotating shaft, thereby generating a flow of water inside the spin basket; a driver for providing power to the rotating shaft of the spin basket and the pulsator; a sensor for sensing vibrations of the spin basket; and one or more processors for controlling the driver. The one or more processors may control the driver such that the spin basket rotates centrifugally around the rotating shaft while the amount of water existing in the spin basket is equal to/larger than a first configuration value, may identify the degree of unbalanced centrifugal rotation of the spin basket on the basis of vibrations sensed through the sensor while the spin basket rotates centrifugally; and may control the driver such that the pulsator rotates centrifugally around the rotating shaft if the identified degree of unbalanced centrifugal rotation is equal to/larger than a first threshold value.
