Abstract:
A control method for a washing machine is provided. The washing machine includes: an outer tub for holding water; an inner tub that is located within the outer tub, exchanges water with the outer tub, and is rotatable on a vertical axis; and a pulsator that is rotatably provided in the lower portion of the inner tub. The method includes: (a) storing the cumulative number of times a wash cycle has been run since the last time a self-cleaning course was conducted each time the wash cycle is run; (b) selecting the self-cleaning course; (c) configuring the self-cleaning course based on the stored cumulative number of times the wash cycle has been run; and (d) conducting the self-cleaning course according to the configured settings.
