Abstract:

A washing machine is capable of determining a load capacity without using a sensor while having performance the same as that of an existing structure that uses a rotation sensor to detect load during power failure of a motor. In the washing machine, a control unit (C) for controlling a permanent magnet motor is provided with a torque command generating part (2), used for generating a torque command according to deviation of a motor rotation speed command value ω * m which is given as a control variable and a motor rotation speed estimated value ω m; a motor drive control part (3), used for converting deviation of motor current I q and I d during driving and current command values I q * and I d * of a corresponding torque command value T * into motor voltage command values V q * and V d *, and driving a motor (M); and a speed estimator (4), used for estimating a motor rotation speed ω m by using the motor current I q and I d as well as motor voltage V q and V d related to the motor voltage command values V q * and V d *. In the washing machine, a load determination part (7) is arranged for determining the amount of washings as a load capacity according to a motor rotation speed estimated value ω * m estimated by the speed estimator (4) in a state of a command of stopping the torque command generating part (2).
