The present application relates to the technical field of household appliances, and discloses a washing machine, comprising a cabinet body, a retractable portion and a washing drum. The interior of the cabinet body defines a movable cavity; the retractable portion is provided in the movable cavity and can extend out of the cabinet body along one side of the movable cavity; the washing drum comprises an upward opening and is provided on the retractable portion, and is configured to expose the opening when the retractable portion extends out of the cabinet body, and to hide the opening when the retractable portion is retracted into the cabinet body. In the present application, the washing machine is internally provided with a retractable portion, and the washing drum is provided on the retractable portion and can extend out of or retract into the washing machine along with the retractable portion. When the washing drum extends out of the washing machine, the opening of the washing drum is exposed, facilitating putting clothes into the washing drum through the opening; and after putting the clothes, the washing drum is retracted into the washing machine. The present invention has a stable structure, and is convenient to use.
