Abstract:
Provided in the present invention is a washing machine which can ensure the clothes disinfection performance and can use an ultraviolet light-emitting part for a long time. A front-loading washing machine (1), comprising: a box body; an outer drum, arranged inside the box body; a drum, rotatably arranged inside the outer drum to accommodate clothes; a UV-C light-emitting module (60), used for emitting UV-C to water retained inside the outer drum; and a control unit (301), performing disinfection operation of irradiating the water inside the outer drum with ultraviolet light from the UV-C light-emitting module (60), wherein the water contains bacteria removed from clothes in the drum, and the control unit (301) determines the load amount of clothes in the drum during the disinfection operation, and enables the UV-C light-emitting module (60) to emit UV-C in the following manner: the higher the load amount, the higher the total light amount of the UV-C irradiating the water in the outer drum during one disinfection operation.
