Abstract:

The present invention precisely determines whether waste is feces or urine. A waste suction apparatus (1) comprises: a cup member (10) covering an excretion site; a suction unit (40) for suctioning waste excreted into the cup member toward a container; a detection unit for detecting objects in the cup member; and a controller (80) for controlling the operation of the suction unit. On the basis of the results detected by the detection unit, the controller determines whether or not waste is present in the cup member, and, if waste is determined to be in the cup member, causes the suctioning unit to perform suctioning. The controller determines the waste to be feces if waste is determined to be present after suctioning has been performed, and determines the waste to be urine if waste is not determined to be present.
