Abstract:
Provided are: a water-absorbent resin that can be easily separated from recyclable resources when recovering recyclable resources; and an absorbent article comprising an absorbent body including the water-absorbent resin. The water-absorbent resin according to the present invention has a structure in which a polymer of a water-soluble ethylenically unsaturated monomer is crosslinked with a post-crosslinking agent. (1) Water retention capacity with respect to physiological saline is 35 g/g or more, (2) water absorption capacity with respect to physiological saline under a 4.14 kPa load is 10 mL/g or more, (3) initial gel viscosity is 3000 mPa·s or more, (4) a gel decomposition index represented by gel decomposition index = B/A (wherein A represents initial gel viscosity (mPa·s) and B represents gel viscosity (mPa·s) after 1 day) is 0.60 or less.
