Abstract:
A water-absorbent sheet composite (10) having such a structure that an absorbent layer which contains both a water-absorbent resin (12) and an adhesive (11) is sandwiched by non-woven fabric sheets (16, 17), wherein: the absorbent layer is thicknesswise divided by a textile substrate (15) into a primary absorbent layer (13) and a secondary absorbent layer (14); the content of the water-absorbent resin (12) is 100 to 600g/m2; the content of the adhesive (11) is 0.05 to 2.0 times (by mass) that of the water-absorbent resin (12); and the ratio of the mass of the water-absorbent resin (12) in the primary absorbent layer (13) to the total mass of the water-absorbent resin (12) in the primary and secondary absorbent layers (13, 14) is 15 to less than 50%. An absorbent article wherein the water-absorbent sheet composite (10) is sandwiched between a liquid-permeable sheet and a liquid -impermeable sheet.
