Abstract:
Provided is a water-based adhesive for a paper straw, the adhesive containing an ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer (A) and water, and the adhesive being such that the ethylene unit content of the ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer (A) is at least 1 mol% and less than 20 mol%, and the block character of the ethylene units is 0.90-0.99. Due to containing an ethylene-vinyl aclohol copolymer (A) having a specific structure, the aforementioned water-based adhesive has an exceptional balance of high-speed coating properties, film strength, dynamic water resistance, and acid resistance, and moreover has exceptional high-speed coating properties, film strength, and acid resistance.
