Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide: a one-liquid-type water-based paint composition having broad applicability to substrates and film-forming ability comparable to that of a solvent-based paint composition, and excellent rust-preventing properties; a coating process whereby the water-based paint composition is used as an undercoat material, and functions of a finish coat material such as water resistance can effectively be imparted; and a coating film and a product obtained using the coating process. This water-based paint composition contains an emulsion composition in which a resin component is dispersed in a water-based medium, and is characterized in that the resin component contains an amine-modified epoxy resin as a component (A), a carboxy-group-containing polyester resin as a component (B), a cationic acrylic resin as a component (C), and a polyfunctional epoxy resin as a component (D).
