Abstract:
Provided are: a water gate which can be prevented from obstructing walking or travel that takes place on a levee and can reliably and smoothly discharge water; and a discharge method for the water gate. This water gate 10 is provided with: a protecting pipe 101 which can be buried so as not to protrude from a levee 1, and which has a plug 113 provided on the inside; a central part 102 extending inside the protecting pipe 101; a plug part 104 joined to the lower end of the central part 102; a water level adjustment part 105 provided with a stretchable bellows part which can be stretched/contracted in the extension direction of the central part 102, has one end joined to the plug part 104 and the other end fixed to a desired position of the central part 102, and can adjust water level; and a holding pipe 106 which is disposed inside the central part 102 and can suspend the water level adjustment part 105 inside the protecting pipe 101 to hold the water level adjustment part 105 at a position at which the plug part 104 is detached from the plug 113.
