The present invention relates to the technical field of washing machines, and in particular, to a water purification apparatus for a washing machine, and a washing machine. The water purification apparatus for a washing machine is provided in a washing machine, and comprises a filter element accommodating cavity (101) and a filter element (102); the filter element accommodating cavity (101) has a water inlet and a water outlet; a housing of the washing machine is provided with a detachment opening; the filter element (102) is detachably mounted in the filter element accommodating cavity (101) by means of the detachment opening. Because of detachable connection, the water purification apparatus can be easily and quickly mounted or removed from the outside of the washing machine without dismantling the frame and other components of the washing machine, and can be mounted or removed by the user without repairing and mounting by professional technicians, thereby facilitating periodically replacing the filter element of a filter apparatus by the user, and ensuring the water purification effect.
