Abstract:
The present invention provides a water-rich adherent gel having excellent adhesiveness and an electrode pad using the gel without heat emission becoming a problem even when used as a counter electrode plate for an electric surgical knife through which a large current flows. The water-rich adherent gel (14) is a hydrogel comprising: a macromolecular matrix made of a copolymer of a polymerizable monomer and a crosslinkable monomer; water; polyhydric alcohol; an electrolyte; polyacrylic acid; and polyvinyl alcohol. The water-rich adherent gel (14) is produced by copolymerization and contains 40 to 70% by weight of water, 1.0 to 5.0% by weight of polyacrylic acid, and 0.5 to 5.0% by weight of polyvinyl alcohol per total of 100% by weight of the hydrogel. Also, a conducting layer (13) formed on a base film (12) is covered with this water-rich adherent gel (14) to produce the electrode pad (11).
