Abstract:
This water treatment apparatus is provided with an untreated water flow path where water to be treated which contains metal-related substances flows, an oxidant supply part that supplies an oxidant to the water to be treated, and a flocculation promoting part that comprises a metallic material flocculation promoting layer, the metallic material flocculation promoting layer having a base material, a porous support layer provided on the base material, and adsorbing particles supported by the porous support layer and containing at least one trivalent iron ion compound selected from the group consisting of Fe2O3, Fe3O4, Fe(OH)3 and FeOOH, wherein the flocculation promoting part promotes flocculation of the metal-related substances by adsorption of the adsorbing particles to the metal-related substances with the aid of the action of the oxidant. The metallic material flocculation promoting layer further includes a solid oxidant.
