Abstract:
A waveguide-display two-dimensional pupil expansion method based on a polarization volume grating. An incident coupling grating (2) guides a light beam, which is from a micro-image source optical engine (7), into a waveguide medium (1), and the light beam is propagated in the waveguide medium (1); and an emergent coupling grating (3) is formed by combining at least two polarization volume gratings in different grating vector directions, and the emergent coupling grating (3) achieves the functions of two-dimensional pupil expansion and coupling export.
