Abstract:
A waveguide tube (1) includes a cylindrical body (21) comprising a cylindrically shaped dielectric, and a covering body (11) comprising an electrical conductor which covers the outer circumferential side surface of the cylindrical body (21), and the waveguide tube (1) causes an electromagnetic wave to propagate. The waveguide tube (1) is characterized in that, in a cross section through the waveguide tube (1) orthogonal to the direction of travel of the electromagnetic wave, the distance between the inner surfaces of the covering body (11) in an orthogonal direction, orthogonal to the direction of an electric field vector of the electromagnetic wave, is less than the standard dimension of a standard waveguide tube corresponding to the frequency of the electromagnetic wave, by an amount determined by the thickness of the dielectric, in said orthogonal direction, and the dielectric constant of the dielectric.
