Abstract:
In a data acquisition step of the present invention, a data acquisition unit acquires predetermined data with regard to at least one cutting tool and with regard to a plurality of sampling times. The data includes measurement information on an amount of wear of the cutting tool and measurement information on a physical quantity in a cutting tool that is cutting. The physical quantity correlates to the amount of wear. In a clustering step, a clustering unit clusters the acquired plurality of sets of data on the basis of the measurement information on the physical quantity included in each of the sets of data. In a model creation step, on the basis of the physical-quantity measurement information and the amount-of-wear measurement information the included in the data, a model creation unit creates, for respective clusters, a model for obtaining estimation information on the amount of wear, the model being created from new measurement information on the physical quantity.
