Title:
WEAR-RESISTANT COPPER-BASE ALLOY
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2002/055748
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A wear-resistant copper-base alloy, characterized in that it has a chemical composition, in wt %: nickel: 5.0 to 20.0 %, silicon: 0.5 to 5.0 %, iron: 3.0 to 20.0 %, chromium: 1.0 to 15.0 %, cobalt: 0.01 to 2.00 %, one or more of molybdenum, tungsten and vanadium: 3.0 to 20.0 % and balance: copper and inevitable impurities. Preferably, the copper-base alloy further contains 0.01 to 5.0 % of a carbide of niobium. The wear-resistant copper-base alloy has not only improved resistance to wear at a high temperature region, but also improved resistance to cracking and improved machinability, and thus is suitable in particular for use in forming an overlaid layer.
