The present invention provides a wear resistant steel sheet which has both excellent wear resistance and excellent bending workability over a wide width. A wear resistant steel sheet which has a predetermined component composition, wherein: the volume fraction of martensite in a region from the surface to the depth of 1 mm is 90% or more; the number density of TiC precipitates having a circle-equivalent diameter of 0.5 μm or more in the region from the surface to the depth of 1 mm is 400 precipitates/mm2 or more; the Brinell hardness in the region from the surface to the depth of 1 mm is 360 HBW 10/3000 or more; and the hardness difference in the width direction in the region from the surface to the depth of 1 mm, said hardness difference being defined as the Vickers hardness difference between two points that are adjacent to each other at a distance of 10 mm in the sheet width direction, is 30 Hv10 or less.
