Abstract:
Provided is a device for manufacturing electric resistance welded pipe that joins both end sections (2a, 2b) of an open pipe (1) at a joining section, said end sections (2a, 2b) facing an opening (2) in the open pipe (1). Joining is achieved by causing the end sections (2a, 2b) to melt using induction current generated by an induction heating means. The device is provided with a ferromagnetic body (9) comprising: an interior section (8a) that extends along the interior of the open pipe (1) and the interior of an induction coil (3) in the directions in which the open pipe (1) and the induction coil (3) run; an exterior section (8b) that extends along the exterior of the open pipe (1) and the exterior of the induction coil (3) in the directions in which the open pipe (1) and the induction coil (3) run; and an intermediate section (8c) that extends between the interior section (8a) and the exterior section (8b) in the pipe interior/exterior direction of the open pipe (1) at a position on the upstream side of the induction coil (3). The ferromagnetic body (9): is arranged toward the downstream side of a direction (R) in which runs the open section-side of a section configured from the intermediate section (8c) and the sections of the interior section (8a) and the exterior section (8b) that are farther downstream than the intermediate section (8a); and forms a closed circuit of magnetic flux that passes through the interior section (8a), the intermediate section (8c), and the exterior section (8b).
