Abstract:
In a state alternately overlapping one another, multiple rotation-side brake plates (47) and multiple non-rotation-side brake plates (48) are arranged in a brake case (32) further outwards in the radial direction than a motor shaft (25). In addition to providing the non-rotation-side brake plates (48) with a friction material (48B), the frictional engagement surface (48E) of the friction material (48B) is provided with oil grooves (48F). The disclosed wet brake device is configured such that when braking force is applied to the motor shaft (25) by means of a brake piston (49), a lubricant oil (59), which enters from a lubricant inlet (40) into the brake case (32), flows only through the oil grooves (48F) between the multiple rotation-side brake plates (47) and the multiple non-rotation-side brake plates (48) from the outer diameter side towards the inner diameter side. By this means, the lubricant oil (59) which flows into the brake case (32) efficiently cools the frictional engagement surface (48E).
