Abstract:
A wide-angle imaging device (21) comprises a camera (22) equipped with an imaging element (26) and a lens (27), a visual-field-switching optical system (23), and an optical system drive mechanism (28). The visual-field-switching optical system (23) comprises a first prism (24) and a second prism (25), and the prisms (24, 25) are vertically superposed. The prism (24 (25)) refracts light incident from a view field in a left (right) direction relative to an optical axis direction and concentrates the light on the imaging element. The optical system drive mechanism (28) raises and lowers the visual-field-switching optical system (23) and switches between a state in which one of the prisms (24, 25) is positioned in front of the camera (22) and a state in which the prisms (24, 25) are removed from in front of the camera (22). Switching the position of the prisms (24, 25) in this manner makes it possible for an image to be taken by the imaging element (26) from a visual field in the left direction, a forward visual field, and a right-side visual field in sequence.
