Abstract:

Provided is a window lighting device capable of saving power by using sunlight. The window lighting device has a light source, a light guiding part, and a power supply that supplies electric power to the light source. The light guiding part has a light guide plate that guides light emitted from the light source, and a photovoltaic unit that receives sunlight to generate electric power. The light guide plate has: a light incident end surface that is opposed to the light source and on which light emitted from the light source is incident; and a light emitting part that is included in a predetermined principal plane of the light guide plate, which intersects the light incident end surface, and from which light guided inside the light guide plate is emitted. The photovoltaic unit is provided, on the light guide plate, at the side of an opposed principal plane opposed to the predetermined principal plane and supplies generated electric power to the power supply.
