Abstract:
Provided is a wire conductor that is made of aluminum or an aluminum alloy and is less likely to cause welding defects in the welded portion in ultrasonic welding to a connection terminal. Also provided are an insulated wire and a wire harness comprising such a wire conductor. A wire conductor 1 has a lower twist layer 11 in which a plurality of core stranded wires 10 formed by twisting a plurality of strands 1a made of aluminum or an aluminum alloy are bundled and twisted together, and an upper twist layer 12 formed by twisting a plurality of core stranded wires 10 on the outer periphery of the lower twist layer 11, and in a cross section orthogonal to the axial direction, a ratio of the area occupied by gaps G1 formed between the lower twist layer 11 and the upper twist layer 12 in the space occupied by the strands 1a is 63% or less.
