Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a wire electric-discharge machining device whereby an insert of a desired shape can be formed from a workpiece, a wire electric-discharge machining method, and a control device. In this wire electric-discharge machining device, a machining part first machines a first boundary area of a boundary between a member to be machined into an outer frame portion and a member to be machined into a product portion such that a portion of the boundary is left as an uncut part and then performs machining to cut a second boundary area, that is, the uncut part of the boundary, in order to separate the member for the product portion from the outer frame portion after the member for the outer frame portion and the member for the product portion are connected together using an electro-conductive material. During the machining of a workpiece, machining of the first boundary area is repeated multiple times, and machining of the second boundary area is repeated multiple times. The uncut part has a side that intersects with the machining direction in which the machining of the second boundary area is performed. This control device is configured to control the machining part such that when machining the second boundary area, the machining begins from the intersecting side.
