Abstract:
A power transfer unit (PTU) configured to support wireless charging of a resonance scheme and wireless charging of an induction scheme, comprises: a first coil for the wireless charging of the induction scheme; a second coil for the wireless charging of the resonance scheme; a wireless charging circuit; a short-range wireless communication circuit; and at least one processor, wherein the at least one processor may be configured to: transmit a first signal for detecting at least one external electronic device through at least one of the first coil and the second coil; receive feedback regarding the first signal from a first external electronic device through the second coil; in response to receiving the feedback, transmit first power for charging the first external electronic device in the resonance scheme by controlling the wireless charging circuit; identify whether a first area corresponding to the first coil and in which at least a portion is flat is available; determine whether to change a charging scheme of the first external electronic device from the resonance scheme to the induction scheme, on the basis that the first area is available; and in response to determining to change the charging scheme of the first external electronic device to the induction scheme, transmit a control signal for charging the first external electronic device by using the induction scheme through the short-range wireless communication circuit.
