The method is executed by a first terminal device, and comprises: sending auxiliary information to a network device, wherein the auxiliary information is used for indicating that a first terminal device shares a location with at least one second terminal device (410). In the present disclosure, the power consumption required by a terminal device in a positioning process can be reduced.
