Abstract:
A smartphone (20) employs power-saving infrared communication to notify a smartpad (10) by means of a WLAN as to whether or not a 3G communication unit (208) thereof can communicate with a 3G base station (400). On the other hand, the smartpad (10) notifies the smartphone (20) by means of the WLAN or by means of infrared communication of an instruction to commence transfer performed by a data transfer unit (214).
