Abstract:
A wireless communication terminal apparatus that can utilize a feature of a multiantenna system
to automatically set an image display direction in accordance with a placement status
of the wireless communication terminal apparatus and that can be provided at
a low cost. This apparatus uses a pair of polarization reception antennas (121,122),
which are disposed orthogonally to each other, to receive radio waves transmitted
by a base station apparatus. A power ratio calculating part (260) calculates
a magnitude ratio of reception powers of the two reception antennas (121,122),
that is, a power ratio = Abs(b)/(Abs(a) + Abs(b)), where “a” and
“b” are complex numbers. The power ratio calculating part (260)
then determines, based on the calculation result, a placement status of the wireless
communication terminal apparatus (100), that is, whether it is placed like a
portrait or a landscape, and then outputs the determination result to a display
control part (250). The display control part (250) sets an image display direction
of a display part (110) in accordance with the placement status of the wireless
communication terminal apparatus (100).
