Abstract:
When a terminal (104) accommodated in a wireless access network, which comprises a wireless network relay apparatus (101), wireless network control apparatuses (102a,102b), and base stations (103a,103b), enters a new cell (B), packet data is transmitted from the wireless network control apparatus (102a) of the old cell to the wireless network control apparatus (102b) of the new cell. Further, when the terminal (104) switches, as the other end of communication, between the wireless network control apparatuses (102), the wireless network control apparatus (102b) of the new cell switches, for a transmission path of data to be transmitted to the terminal (104), from the wireless data of the wireless network control apparatus (102a) of the old cell to packet data and then switches from the packet data of old cell to the packet data of the new cell with respective timing synchronizations established. This reduces the traffic occurring when a terminal moves from a cell to another in a wireless access network providing a packet transmission service and switches, as the other end of communication, between the wireless network control apparatuses. Moreover, packet interruptions are prevented.
