Abstract:
A work arm for work machinery comprises a box-type structure 21 configured from a plurality of plate members, a pair of bosses 30 mounted to opposing plate members 22, and a cylindrical boss connection member 42 connecting the pair of bosses 30. The boss 30 has: a boss body portion 31 that has a pin insertion hole 31a into which a connection pin 48 is inserted and that extends in the direction in which the plate members 22 are in line; and a collar portion 32 that extends from the outer circumference of the boss body portion 31 outwardly and that is joined to the plate member 22 via a first weld portion 44. The boss body portion 31 is configured from a cylindrical outer body portion 33 on an outer surface side of the box-type structure 21, and a cylindrical inner body portion 34 on an inner surface side thereof. Both ends of the boss connection member 42 are joined to the inner body portion 34 ends via a second weld portion 45. The inner body portion 34 is configured so that the outer diameter D2 thereof on the collar portion 32 side is smaller than the outer diameter D1 of the axial end of the outer body portion 33. According to this configuration, the fatigue life of the weld portion 44 joining the boss 30 and the plate member 22 can be improved.
