Abstract:
A work machine has an output shaft to which a tip tool can be attached and which is driven to rotate by a predetermined drive power source, a cover for covering at least a part of an outer periphery of the tip tool attached to the output shaft, a detector that detects that the work machine is bounced off of a workpiece by a reaction force applied from the workpiece to the tip tool, and a cover moving mechanism that moves the cover to a protective position covering the outer periphery of the tip tool when the detector detects that the work machine is bounced off.
