To achieve highly accurate oil leakage detection so that even colorless oil can be detected, without an increase in device complexity, an oil leak detection device according to the present invention is provided with: a distance measurement unit for measuring the distance to an oil-filled device, an ultraviolet light source for irradiating ultraviolet light onto the oil-filled device, a color imaging unit for photographing the oil-filled device irradiated with ultraviolet light, an image processing unit for diagnosing oil leakage from the oil-filled device on the basis of the distance measured by the distance measurement unit and an image photographed by the color imaging unit, and a display unit for displaying a processed image processed by the image processing unit. Further, in an oil leak detection method according to the present invention: the distance to an oil-filled device is measured, ultraviolet light is irradiated onto the oil-filled device, the oil-filled device irradiated with ultraviolet light is photographed, oil leakage from the oil-filled device is diagnosed on the basis of the measured distance and photographed image, and a processed image that has been subjected to diagnosis processing is displayed.
