Abstract:
A sheet that includes coagulation factors such as fibrinogen and thrombin, and that is used as a wound covering material, has high adhesiveness to tissue in the body, but has a problem with flexibility and further requires a high-degree of caution for the possibility of infection. Meanwhile, a wound surface covering material of a biolytic material is not problematic with respect to infection, but does not have high adhesiveness or hemostatic capability and remains a secondary hemostatic device. This wound surface covering material is characterized in that: a mesh-shaped support body and microneedles formed on a surface of the support body are included; the support body and the microneedles are formed from a biolytic material; and the apparent Young's modulus is 2.0 MPa–2.0 GPa. The covering material can increase safety with regard to infection and will not move from the area where the covering material is placed due to the adhesive effect of the microneedles.
