Abstract:
A writing utensil in which writing ink, such as water-based ink or oil-based ink, with which an ink occluding body in the barrel is impregnated is supplied to the pen point, which is to become the writing section, the utensil being designed so that an ink exhaustion signal can be easily and reliably detected visually. This writing utensil, in which ink with which an ink occluding body in the barrel is impregnated is supplied to the pen point, which is to become the writing section, is arranged such that the ink with which the ink occluding body is impregnated is supplied to the pen point through a visually discernible ink guide tube and such that an ink exhaustion signal from the ink occluding body is detected by visually discerning the ink guide tube through a visually discernable section formed in the barrel.
