Abstract:
A photon counting type detector (122) comprises a drift electrode (122a), an MSGC (122b) provided while spaced apart by a predetermined distance, and a drift region (122c) constituted by filling the gap between the drift electrode (122a) and the MSGC (122b) with gas. Projection data outputted from the photon counting type detector (122) is provided to a discrimination circuit (162) for energy discriminating, and a CT image is recomposed based on the discriminated projection data, thus obtaining an inexpensive energy discrimination type X-ray CT system in which image quality can be enhanced.
