Abstract:
An X-ray generation device comprising: a housing; an electron gun that has an electron emission part emitting electrons within the housing, and an extraction electrode for extracting the electrons emitted from the electron emission part; a target that generates X-rays within the housing due to the incidence of the electrons; a window member that seals an opening of the housing and allows the passage of the X-rays; and a tube voltage application part that applies a tube voltage between the electron emission part and the target, wherein the thickness of the target demonstrates a distribution, and the target is positioned so as to be tilted relative to an imaginary plane orthogonally intersecting an axis of the electron gun, and such that the thickness of the target is thinner in the location where the electrons are incident when an extraction voltage applied to the extraction electrode is relatively low than the location where the electrons are incident when the extraction voltage is relatively high.
