Abstract:
The objective of the present invention is to provide a glass which can achieve both desired light transmittance and X-ray opacity when mixed with a resin. This X-ray opaque glass is characterized by: containing 25-75 mass% of SiO2, 0-15 mass% of B2O3, 5-23 mass% of Al2O3, 0-15 mass% of K2O, and 0-30 mass% of Cs2O, and not substantially containing a Pb component; and satisfying a relationship of aluminum equivalent thickness/ refractive index nd≥1.6, where the aluminum equivalent thickness and the refractive index nd are indexes for X-ray opacity.
