Description:
YARN, WOVEN AND NON-WOVEN FABRIC HAVING MOISTURIZING AND REFRESHING PROPERTIES FOR THE SKIN AND PROCESS FOR THEIR PRODUCTION The present invention relates to a textile product, a yarn, woven or non- woven fabric having moisturizing and refreshing properties for the skin, characterized by the presence of a product based on principles suitable for the purpose, particularly a moisturizing cream ; the invention also relates to the process for the manufacturing of said textile product.

The existence of particular clothing articles containing perfumes, anti-odour, anti-mosquito, etc.. or other products, is already known. European patent 436,729 of the company Kanebo Ltd, for example, relates to micro-capsules for the slow release of physiologically active principles with respect to the human body, and to particular clothing items with said micro-capsules incorporated, which exert their slow release function only when the article is being worn : these are mainly underwear or nightclothes.

International patent application WO 0189458 of Sederma SA, describes fabrics and clothing articles, particularly tights, having a moisturizing and refreshing effect on the skin due to the presence of micro-capsules englobing a product based oh vegetable butter, which is topically released, once the fabric is in contact with the skin.

These are evidently quite particular solutions, relating only to a few specific clothing items, certainly not suitable for clothes for everyday use, for sportswear, and, in any case, restricted by the supply of active principle in the englobing micro- capsule, which greatly limits its effect, thus causing the decay of the specific property which may have determined the selection of that particular piece of

clothing.

The Applicant has now found that it is possible to produce a textile product, a yarn, woven and non-woven fabric for the subsequent manufacturing of all kinds of clothing items, having moisturizing and refreshing properties for the skin, which are stable for long periods, and such as to guarantee their presence during the whole normal period of use of the clothing article of interest, by impregnation of the yarn or woven article with a mixture containing a moisturizing cream.

A first object of the present invention therefore relates to a textile product having moisturizing and refreshing properties for the skin, comprising at least a yarn, a shuttle or knitted material or non-woven fabric and at least a product containing at least one cream having moisturizing properties, the woven or non-woven fabric comprising one or more yams suitably processed on looms or knitting machines.

The textile product according to the present invention can also contain reflecting products, or skin-protection products, for example creams having high UV absorbing properties, as described, for example, in Italian patent applications BO 2002A 000510 and BO 2002A 000511, filed on 02/08/2002, in the name of the Applicant and Lanificio Faliero Sarti, of which the Applicant has full availability.

The textile product according to the present invention, comprising only the product based on moisturizing cream as additional component, or the same combined with other additives already envisaged in the state of the art, such as the above- mentioned or others, can be used for all kinds of clothing articles, ranging from children's clothes to sportswear, for articles destined for lengthy contact with the skin, and, in any case, for all applications which require skin protection together with constant hydration and freshness of the skin.

With reference to the product of the present invention, in the case of a woven

or non-woven fabric, the process for the preparation of the same, which represents the second object and integral part of the present invention, comprises the production of a single-or double-face fabric, according to the techniques known to experts in the field of textile products.

The yarn can also be processed as such, or suitable selected additives can be added, depending on the desired characteristics of the final product; in any case, by adopting the same moisturizing procedure, the final fabric obtained using the yarn thus treated, will have the same technical characteristics as the treated fabric. The fabric simply dyed or also containing suitable additives, is then dried by means of any traditional process and is subsequently subjected to normal finishing operations, during which any possible additive can be added. The fabric can also be impregnated during the finishing stage, with a product based on a moisturizing cream, which, after application, maintains its characteristics, conferring both moisturizing and refreshing properties to the fabric, which give the skin a feeling of freshness and well-being.

The moisturizing cream used in the process of the present invention must naturally have special characteristics, such as hydration, emollience, dispersibility, and it must also be distinguished by a high degree of fixation to the fabrics.

The product known under the commercial name of"Aloe Moisturizing Cream"of the line NATURAE GUNE'(t has proved to be particularly suitable for the purpose; this product is manufactured by the company Massimo Guarducci S. r. l. and is a particular combination of components, in this case, a solution based on moisturizing cream: this product is provided with a technical dossier according to the regulation 713/86 and dermatological tests for skin irritation: het-cam test and patch test, in emulsion, with emulsifying agents.

The application of this cream to the fabric by means of an impregnation

process, allows a uniform distribution and high stability to washing: for example, gas-chromatographic analyses of the fabric treated as such and after a cycle of twenty five washings, have demonstrated that, after twenty five washings, about 50% of the components of the moisturizing cream used are still present. Furthermore, the same cream mixture can be advantageously applied by means of other known techniques, such as the exhaustion process, nebulization, spraying, or surface stratification by means of coating or scraping. With some of the above application techniques, the moisturizing cream mixture can be applied on one side only of the fabric or on both sides: in the case of application on one side only, the method described in Italian patent application nr. MI02A002513 filed on 27.11. 2002 in the name of the Applicant, can be advantageously applied. In order to improve the cream absorption, the fabric can also be treated with cream mixed with hard water, softened hard water or osmotized water, through hot or cold processes.

The cream is used as such, or mixed with suitable substances: as an illustrative and non-limiting example of the objects of the present invention, a mixture consisting of Aloe Cream, emulsifier and fragrance, can be used.

The fabric can also be prepared with several yams (1-2-3-4, etc..) having different compositions, made of artificial fibre, synthetic or natural fibre, as simple fabric and/or double-face or three D: fabric with three yarns, weft, warp and width, still according to techniques well known in the textile field.

In the last stage, the dying phases are effected in a sequence, according to the methods already indicated for the embodiment of the invention, followed by the application of a product containing the moisturizing cream described above, to the fabric or yarn.

It should be pointed out that the above description is provided for purely illustrative and non-limiting purposes. Possible modifications and variations of the invention should therefore be considered as falling within the definition and scope of the present invention, as described and claimed hereunder.
